We are back to bring you another glimpse into Precision and our dedicated team of doctors, this time introducing you to Dr. Brianna Darneal!

Brianna joined our team in September 2021, bringing with her a unique blend of skills and a passion for helping others. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Chapman University in 2019, but her academic journey started at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she double-majored in Film and Digital Media and Art. Her creative background gives her a fresh perspective on problem-solving and movement analysis, which she uses to help her patients thrive.

Brianna is a San Luis Obispo native, so she knows the area like the back of her hand. When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her dancing—whether it’s ballet, salsa, west coast swing, or blues! She also loves exploring the beautiful hiking trails and beaches around town, and spending quality time with her husband and young son. Her love for movement and the outdoors shines through in her work, where she’s dedicated to helping her patients feel their best.

Specializing in treating orthopedic and neurological conditions, Brianna uses her skills to create personalized treatment plans for her patients. She’s also trained in vestibular rehabilitation and is LSVT Big certified, which means she’s well-equipped to help patients with Parkinson’s disease improve their mobility and quality of life. One of the things Brianna loves most about being a physical therapist is seeing the progress her patients make—whether it’s less pain, more confidence, or just feeling better overall.
Looking ahead, Brianna is excited about building a vestibular rehabilitation program right here in San Luis Obispo. She’s passionate about expanding the services we offer and making sure our community has access to the best care possible. We’re so happy to have Brianna on our team, and we know our patients are in great hands with her!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dr. Kristen Carless of Precision Physical Therapy and Wellness leads
PWR! Moves (Parkinson Wellness Recovery) exercise class.

(San Luis Obispo, CA) Precision Physical Therapy is proud to announce it is offering Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery (PWR! Moves) exercise classes twice a week taught by Dr. Kristen Carless, a PWR! Moves Certified Physical Therapist.

The classes began after the realization that there were very few consistent exercises classes for people diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in the San Luis Obispo area. The goal is to provide a space for the local Parkinson’s community to stay active while having fun.

Dr. Carless became involved after working with Parkinson’s patients through Maria Allen, Central Coast Home Health’s San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County Parkinson Coordinator. The two have worked together to create more opportunity for the Parkinson community. “There are very few Parkinson specific research-based exercise skill training programs dedicated to maintaining and restoring skills that deteriorate and interfere with everyday movements and function in the local area,” said Allen, “I’m extremely excited that Precision Physical Therapy owners, Dr. Carless and Dr. Svetich, have seen this need and are so welcoming to the Parkinson community.”

PWR! Moves offers a flexible and functional exercise plan for Parkinson’s patient that targets many symptoms and is easily adjustable based on disease severity. PWR! Moves are performed as large movements with focus on posture and high effort, meant to assist in mobility.

PWR! Moves classes are taught at 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at Precision Physical Therapy and Wellness located at 211 Tank Farm Rd., Suite A (across from Farm Supply). The cost of the class is $15 per person or $20 for two people.
